This article will try to debunk the commonly used terms of Dispersion & Sigma to describe a ships accuracy. While the World of Warships Wiki actually does a great job at describing these two terms in depth (Check it out here ), I want to try and make it a little easier to understand as well as ‘correct’ a few terms that are used as well as provide some clarification. DISPERSION In short, dispersion is the value used to describe the horizontal (and vertical – though the only value listed in port is horizontal) distance in which shells are expected to disperse at a range. The value in port represents the maximum horizontal dispersion for the maximum range of the ship. An example of this is the Montana has a maximum dispersion of 296m at 23.65km. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE I’ve noticed a number of people having issues (crashing and connection issues) with WoWs and Windows 10 (seeming to coincide with the latest update for both – Windows 10 1803 as of the writing of this article and 0.7.5 for WoWs) including having a few of my own problems with both. So, here is a quick guide covering some things you can try to fix your issues. Some of these may be obvious, others not so much perhaps but here we go. (source: https://warshipnews.blog/ ) 1. Do a cold shutdown and restart of your rig. This is really important as it will clear things out of memory. A regular restart will NOT accomplish this. This is particularly hard with Windows 10 as a default setting counters this unless you unplug your power. So here is how to fix that. You’ll need to go to Settings > System > Power and Sleep > Click on Additional Power Settings > Choose What the power buttons do and UNcheck Turn on Fast Startup. 2. The visuals that have been designed for underwater are outstanding and the controls are concise and easy to use – though still takes some getting used to. F urther, the skill necessary to make torpedo hits worth while gives this new ship type a bit more clout that I would have originally thought. You need to play these ships strategically, even more so than with a destroyer due to your fragility, choosing your targets wisely and sneaking up on them correctly. M ap awareness will be key in avoiding detection by other ships and aircraft. Once your target has been chosen, you need to predict their behavior for your torpedo line-up, such as with a destroyer, but now you need to ping the bow and stern targets to maximize your damage.
